The Standard Model has 26 free parameters — numbers measured and inserted by hand with no derivation. This paper asks the prior question: what makes a parameter free in the first place? The answer is the correspondence layer — the set of human choices connecting a mathematical model to physical reality. The Standard Model has a correspondence layer 26 choices thick. Pentagon Physics has one: the universe is self-referential. Everything else is forced. The paper also derives the arrow of time as a consequence of the fixed-point attractor — time flows because the self-referential iteration b → σ is irreversible. The direction of time does not come from entropy. It comes from the geometry of self-reference.

\[ \sigma = \frac{1}{1+\sigma} \quad \Rightarrow \quad \text{26 free choices} \to \text{1 axiom} \]
